The report finds the Taiwanese smartphone shipment volume grew 7.3% sequentially in the third quarter of 2017, owing largely to the mass production of the Apple iPhone 8 series, increased shipments from Chinese brands like Huawei and Xiaomi, and the launch of new flagship models from Taiwanese brands towards year-end. Despite the impact of Chinese brands on Taiwanese brands persists, the industry's full-year shipment volume is anticipated to have reached 355.7 million units in 2017, down merely 0.3% year-on-year. This is mainly attributed to the strong sales of Taiwanese manufacturers' clients in the Southeast Asia such as Xiaomi in India.
