The report finds that shipment volume of the Taiwanese desktop PC industry decline sequentially and year-on-year in the first quarter of 2018, reaching 11.8 million units. While AMD's Ryzen processor launched in April was yet to make its contribution, the slowdown in the demand of desktop PCs in China since 2017 and the delayed commercial replacement demand in China took their toll on the global desktop PC shipments in the first quarter of 2018. It is anticipated that the industry will witness both year-on-year and sequential growth in the third quarter of 2018 when the abovementioned detrimental factors are reduced.
