About Polysilicon
Polysilicon is high purity polycrystalline form of silicon derived from quartzite, a form of quartz sandstone rock. Owing to its semiconductor properties, polysilicon is used in various applications such as solar photovoltaics and electronics. The three grades of polysilicon are high-purity, secondary-grade, and recycled grade. Though manufacturers prefer various production technologies, the two key production techniques are fluidized bed reactor (FBR) and the Siemens process. The production technique depends on the end-user application and production capacity.
